since i last posted, i've done the following things:

went to see Counting Crows: pretty fun, but a bit lacking in energy. adam duritz had to sit down more than once and mop sweat. dude, try a stairmaster. we had probably the only lousy seats in the house, which extra sucked since my sister in law (SIL) was literally first in line to buy tickets. she and her friend jody were on the floor, dead center stage, while the brother and i parked up in the seats. many hours and much diligence went into them getting the floor spots they wanted, so thank God it wasn't disappointing for them. It was at my Alma Mater, Small Midwestern College, which meant actually rubbing elbows with suburban "its all about me!" college students, who tend to think working part time at a bar/walmart and having 2 tests in a week = serious stress. the ones around us (mercifully, not many) were for the most part a) obviously drunk (totally understandable) and 2) generally intent on shouting out anything they damn well felt. thank God concerts are loud, so the music drowned the more annoying ones out most of the time. Anyhow, the semi sorry state of the seats combined with the crappy acoustics made for a rather disappointing concert for me. they did play a good variety of songs, and were entertaining.

Pearl Jam: went to see Pearl Jam. hadn't really listened to them since college and a bit after, but i'm hooked again. the show was awesome, and well worth the super cheap 35 dollar tickets. they played for almost 2 1/2 hours. wonderful.

David Chappelle (sp): saw him at SMC. SMC is officially on my list. lets try this...instead of letting drunken college kids in usb t-shirts (which strikes such authoritarian fear in the hearts of all) provide the 'security', lets get some hateful, burly security guards instead. the previously mentioned problem with fellow concert/event goers yelling out random shit was painfully obvious at chappelle. people just kept interrupting the show by blurting out stupid shit.
