i really thought i posted in February. hmm...that went fast.

nothing much new here. i still like my job, though i can see getting some of these people fired up to try new things is going to be a challenge. hey, if something has functioned at a level of mediocrity for the past 15 years, why change it? sheesh...

im doing everything imaginable to avoid grading my PowerPoint students assignments. I swear, i dont know how some of them manage to screw up ppt. its easy. really.

i have a conference to go to next week. i'm pretty excited about it because i think i'll learn a ton about developmental education (which is my 'target audience' at work). its in st louis, so its close. there is another person going, but i dont know her very well...an older lady, seems very churchy. in other words, the anti-me. :) she and her boss tried to talk me into sharing a room with her since it would save money. you, my friends who know me so very well, know that the thought of sharing a room with someone i dont know made me break out into hives. my boss told me i didnt have to share if i didnt want to, so i didnt share. its bad enough i'm going to be trapped in the car with this woman for a couple hours making polite chit chat (i will make a feeble effort to not swear, which will probably cause my blood pressure to go up). i really hope my hotel has internet access, since i get to take the super-cool tablet pc with me. every time i try to call the hotel i dial the wrong number. the first time i got some secretary at a judges office....before i realized that i had the wrong number, i quizzed her about whether or not their rooms had internet access. needless to say, she thought i was a crackpot. i'm sure she was getting ready to dial the FBI. then when i tried to call the corrected phone number, i got an answering machine which let me knwo that 'larry and patty' were not home at the time. hmm...i wonder if larry and patty have internet access? maybe i should just stay with them...

i wonder if anyone has graded my ppt assignments for me yet?

the best news i've had lately is that my little Godson, baby T, got here ok. color me evil, but i dont remember what day he was born. he's about 5 or 6 weeks old, and he's incredibly cute...i've got a picture of him on my desktop, so thats got to cancel out the fact that i dont remember his birthday. if i can figure out a way to post a pic, i shall...his sister E is thrilled he's here, which is good cos you never know if the sibling is going to actually like the new kid. i havent seen baby T live yet and i wanted to go see him this month, but it might be April. in our last phone call his mother, M., made some sarcastic crack about 'see ya sometime this summer'. hmph. i wont bother to remind her that she moved 6 hours away from me. i think i've mentioned it to her before. :)

the knitting is going well. i'm working on a couple of little things right now. i've figured out that knitting up stuff for people is a serious labor of love, since it takes quiet a while to put together even basic stuff. my friend Needlefingers, the knitting queen, can throw together a pair of socks in about 2 days. if she was making minimum wage for said socks, they'd cost about 100 bucks in labor. i think what i'm trying to get at here is that if you get something knitted from me, you'd damn well better cherish it cos it probably took me quite a lot of time to run it up. and if i spend that much time on something for you, i must like you an awful lot. :) however, if you dont get anything from me dont feel bad...i dont like you any less, i'm just lazy. lol.

i just checked again, and my ppt assignments are still waiting on me. *sigh*. if anyone would like to volunteer to help grade, just let me know! i'll knit you a bookmark for your trouble...lol.
