Ambien? I Don't Need No Stinking Ambien.

If you are plauged by insomnia, I have the cure for you! Just buy the book pictured above, crack it open, and read! Actually, the key to inducing sleep is not just reading it. For a research book its really not bad and the authors have obviously tried their mightiest to make a dry, dense topic as readable as possible. What you really need to do to make yourself slip into an cozy little coma is to try to read and *comprehend* it. At least that's what works for me. I read it, then re-read it, and then try to understand what the hell I just read. Then my eyelids grow heavy and I take a nap. I actually read about 3 pages of the chapter that I was supposed to have had read a couple of weeks ago before I nodded off. I think I'm somehow 2 chapters behind again.

I'm screwed. If I flunk out of grad school in the first semester I'm going to knit myself a lovely noose and hang myself with it. Hey, that would be a good felting project!

I'm having a small anxiety attack anyway, because the semester will be over sooner than imaginable and I've got tons of work to to. In Research, there is still an article review to do, the big research proposal (which involves not only writing, but doing a review of literature which I haven't even started reading articles for yet) and then the final, which I predict will be evil. Then over in the Counseling class there is a session transcription due on Nov 14 (which the teacher hasnt mentioned since the first week of class, and then only to tell us how we can't wait til the last minute to do it.), a group pretend therapy session that we have to 'perform' in class, and a final, which I predict will be...well, evil. and this is all going to take place between now and the first week of December. Oh, and work is going to be busy and awful for the rest of the semester what with our big end of the year report due and all this other stuff.

I think I need to go breath into a paper bag for awhile.

happier things: Baby C's blankie is 2/3 done. However, I'm not feeling the love for this color. I think I'll forward the pics on to Neener and see if she likes it. She's gracious and will say she does, but maybe I'll just finish it, send Needlefingers to her LYS for a bundle of the purple Jelli Beenz, and do another one.

I got all fired up and joined Weight Watchers online today. Whats really cool is that their new points deal gives you some extra points thru the week, to either use for a splurge or not use at all. I just noticed that my splurge points all re-set on Wednesday, so I can use a weeks worth of extra points in the next three days! muh-ahahahaha! Yeah, this is going to be successful...

Geez, school sounds rather hellish, but I have the utmost confidence that you'll find some way to pull it all off. Take an extra nap or two, and by all means, do NOT let any WW points get away unused!!!! BTW, I'd love to be a fly on the wall at your group pretend therapy session. I can't even imagine what THAT will be like. If you come in with your newly felted noose, just imagine the possibilities!

the pretend therapy session isnt too bad. since we're all going to be more like 'advisors' vs. mental health professionals, our teacher doesnt get too evil with us. I may freak out and get to be exhibit A before this semester is over.
