this is the most evil saturday on record. first, i was harshed out at the post office which i typed an in-depth report on to post on the blog. when i went to post it, and pictures of my latest knitting, blogger went goofy and I LOST THE WHOLE THING!!!!!! i swear, i'm about to lose my mind. in light of these events, heres the readers digest version of what was a really spiffy post:

here's baby g's blankie:

here's baby c's (Neener's little girl...due next month) blankie, which is HALF done and i only started it last sunday! i'd like some feedback on the color, if anyone cares to comment:

both were knitted with plymouth's jelli beenz yarn, which is a fun acrylic/wool blend. not enough wool to be itchy, not too much acrylic so that its all...acrylic-y.

my cousin, formerly known as Cousin but is now known as musicgeek, was talking about learning crochet so now i want to, too. my knitting guru, needlefingers, swears I wont like it as much as knitting, but that its still a good skill to have.

i might type more later, when i'm less cranky. I need to go read my awful research book. ugh.

Your blankies are smashing, dahling! I don't know if I will ever be able to create anything with yarn that's recognizable. I like the colors of both of them, but I'm on a warm color kick right now, so I want a blankie like the one on top.

The blogging thing is kinda fun. Don't know what I'll put in mine. I may have a bad day, and want to warn you it may not always be Aunt Fancy approved.

why thank you, sweetie dahling! i absolutely think you could knit/crochet because you're so damn crafty with everything else. Can I talk you into a scarf instead of a blankie? i'm about blankie-d out.

rage on...if Aunt Fancy had heard what I said when i got home from the PO she would have blanched and called an exorcist. I'm glad my Mommy can handle an occasional, situationally appropriate F-Bomb. I was so pissed i was almost in tears. i HATE the local post-biotch!

I love the "red" one!, were those taken in Cisne? I should email you some pics of my kis and have you run them over to Burney....I miss him soooooo much! I am totally trying to find some ome to teach me to knit, can I buy my own guru in the store? I will hopefully make it down there in Nov. but who knows, he has gotten pretty grumpy to stay with and all 5 of us descending on him might not be the best idea, need to find a no tell motel :)

Send the pictures and we'll be happy to print them off for Burney! Remind me to email you Mom's email address. She sees him at church every Sunday and would be happy to play delivery girl (and to see pictures of the adorable children!) Send them directly to her and they'll probably end up on her fridge, too.

If you come visit, I can give you a knitting lesson. I'll bet if you did a little digging you'd find some rouge knitters in your area!

Blankets are gorgeous and I am green with envy. When, oh, when will I be up to blankets!

You have the skills to make this blankie right now! Its just a giant garter stitch dishcloth. You start at one corner and work to the fattest middle part of the blankie, then work your way back to the opposite corner. Here's the basic pattern:

cast on...4, i think. i always forget! Then knit 2 stitches, yarn over, then knit to the end. next row? K2 YO K to the end of the row. do this ad nauseum. when you reach the halfway point (the blankies widest spot across the middle) then you have to K2 YO K3tog every row til you have about 4 stitches left (i think), then cast off. viola!

OK, so I have no idea what yarn over means or how to increase or decrease. I got some learnin' to do.
