Monday

T-minus 1 week until I go back to work. This time next week I will be insufferable. Just sayin'.

Happy things: Today I delivered the Christmas present to the elderly lady I mentioned a few days ago. She loved it, and it was good to visit with her.

I am forcing myself to go to be early tonight. I naturally gravitate toward a 2am-9am schedule when left to my own, but unfortunately work won't let me slide in at 10am, even if I promise to stay late. I once worked noon to 9pm at a library, and I loved the hours. I woke up at 9:30 this morning and felt like a lazy bastard. (such an old person thing to say)

Tomorrow Aunt Fancy will be here. I love her and I'm looking forward to seeing her, but I always have to be on my best behavior (for my Mom's sake more than anything) and try not to swear or loudly espouse anything too far left of center. I do have my good little liberal library displayed near the door in my room, so if she pops her head in she'll see the Clinton biographies, books about the Kennedys, and a few Molly Ivins books. And for dear cousin Musicgeek, I make sure the Harry Potters are visible. Fight the power! Ok, in my way the power gets fought pretty wimpily, but its the little things....

I just don't think I've posted any pictures of my Yappy-Ass Purse Dog (tm Crazy Aunt Purl) and thats just a shame. For the sake of her anonymity (she does spend a lot of time hiding under the bed. She likes her privacy) we shall call her Fuzzybutt here:

Isn't she just precious? I don't know how I got such a happy little picture of her. She has some anxiety issues when it comes to the flash of a camera. Hell, everything makes her anxious. She's a yappy-ass purse dog...its her thing.

Speaking of Crazy Aunt Purl, poor thing is having a rough holiday. If you read her, or even if you dont, go wish her a little good cheer (link is in the sidebar). Its her first Chrismas post-divorce and she's having a tough time with it.

Oh, and the damn tote is up to the castoff row, so I'll post pictures of it tomorrow. I had some issues with the post-novelty yarn rows, so what should have been breezy was kind of a pain in the ass. When things get knitting-weird, I always wish Needlefingers was around to tell me to relax and fix it for me. She's good like that!

I fully expect people to start posting "What I Did/What I got for Christmas" posts soon. I'm looking forward to updates!

Yes, and if I wasn't so neglectful, I could have told you a neat trick to not have to purl all that stuff.

You didn't want to hear that, did you? Think of it as good purling practice. Does that help?

I could always use purling practice. I get it done, but I'm not...lets say, I'm not an efficient purler.

I know you'd know a better way!

Sounds like you had a really good Xmas. The pics of Curly you sent were so good. I especially like the post nap hair!

We just got back home today. I'm going to try to dig out from under all the crap that needs to be done and post about my haul.

That puppy is so cute and I swear it's smiling, just for you. I hope you are ready to be on your best behavior
