Home for a few days
After Greencastle (hustle on over to Needlefingers blog and scroll down for pics of our trip, if you haven't seen them already) I was home for a couple of days then off to Kansas City to visit M, T and the Babies. It was so nice to see them all. They're the kind of friends I can see once a year and when I see them its like no time has passed at all. I love that feeling. Thats how you can tell who your best friends are. I'm actually having a quite lovely (though hectic) April, because I get to see Neener next weekend. A trip with Needlefingers, a visit with M, T, and Babies, and a visit with Neener and family...what a friend filled month!Of course, I'm exhausted but its all so worth it. :)
I dont think I'm going to flunk out of school, but I still need to get a couple of pages done for a group report/presentation and one solitary article review done. Next week is the last week of class. Thank you Jebus! So I have class Monday and Tuesday, then Wednesday I hit the road to Chicago to a conference. No rest for the wicked, I guess. I'm actually staying thru the weekend though to visit Neener. She's finishing up a big work project, so we plan on celebrating with wine and the occasional cosmo or chocolate martini (she makes a mean one.) Then I'm home for about 10 days, then off on the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) tour for 10 days. Basically I'm getting 3 credits for rolling around the South on a bus (pray we don't have to take a van) and visiting a whole slew of HBCU's. While I'm not looking forward to the quality road time and the possibility of sleeping on a bus, I am excited about the trip itself. This isn't something people from my happy hillbilly home get to do very often.
I'm still working on my sock! Um, actually I haven't touched the sock. I was scared the airport security would deem my knitting needles a weapon and confiscate my sock. There is no earthly way I'm parting with it. I've got a toe done, for Jebus sake!
I need to buy a digital camera. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm so wishy washy when it comes to purchasing technology. For someone who loves it all so much, I can sure chicken out of buying something cool. I'd like to get a camera to take on the trip, so I'm thinking small.
Has anyone heard the Dixie Chicks new song, Not Ready to Make Nice, yet? I have, and I love it. If you have iTunes you can buy it for 99 cents. I probably would have bought it even if I didn't like the song. I love the girls and hope their new album sells millions and millions of copies.
Btw, Tom Petty is touring this summer. If you are anywhere near where he will be playing, go. Trust me. He's actually touring with special guest star openers. They're doing some shows with Pearl Jam, but I they'll be mostly on the west coast. Damnit! However, I've heard they're also going to tour with My Morning Jacket too and that would be an incredible show. Some of MMJ's stuff I like, some I don't, but I've heard they're an amazing live band.

Sounds like you are quite the traveler these days. I gotta see that sock, so get a digital camera (Needlefingers and Pilot can assist you on that one) and start posting us some photos.
I didn't realize the trip was on a bus. How cool. Gotta take your knitting along.
Petty is awesome in concert and I may, just may, try to see him again.
PS: Love the Dixie Chicks song. Have the album release date on my calendar.
