3 Days Until Departure
Needles, Ragged and I are going to Stitches. We leave Friday. Needles and I discussed why we didn't go up Thursday, and Ragged and I lamented that we didn't go up last weekend to catch Lollapalloza and sightsee all week. We're all looking forward to getting out of town for the weekend. I however, am a bit daunted, what with being the worst knitter ever. Want proof? Meet Sock.
Poor Sock. Sock has been in the making since Greencastle, which was in April. Sigh. Speaking of Greencastle, I hope Ragged enjoys going on the roadtrip to Stitches because Needles and I hope she'll come to Greencastle next year too.
I just got back from a trip to Madison, WI. It was a good trip. I got to go to one of the last conferences I'll probably ever get to go to since our grant runs out in September. Ah well, Its been a good run. The Cow Parade is in Madison right now. I saw some of it when it was in Chicago originally, but it was fun to wander along and take pictures of them. If you want to see pictures of the cows and just a bit of downtown Madison, go to my Flickr page.
I was at a technology/distance ed conferece, and during one session on Teaching the Twenty-First Century Student, the presenter was asking folks if they knew what different things were, like wikis and texting and chat and blogs (oh my!). When he got to blogs, one rather unhip woman toward the front of the room growled out "Vanity project!" Bitter much? I can only assume she said that since no one reads her blog.
Nothing much new here. Summer went too fast. I'm done (I hope) with the coursework for my internship, but I still have to get my internship hours in. Um, I kind of need to remember to fill out my logs and turn them in too. So far I've turned in...uh...none. But I'm working on it! Class starts in two weeks and while I'm looking forward to it, I'm also a little sad too. Not driving 4 extra hours a week was nice. Not spending God knows how much extra on gas was nice.
Good Lord. I've been gone since end of June and I'm boring. Maybe I'll be more exciting after Stitches.
