yarn-a-palooza!

I know...it sucks without pictures. There will be pictures later. I promise.

The yarn orgy to Evansville and Newburgh with Needlefingers and Ragged was a huge success! We had a simply wonderful time. It was so good to finally meet Ragged; It seems like we already knew each other, since we've been reading each other's blog and emailing for a little while. Head to Ragged's website (link on the sidebar) for an in depth report on the whole trip. I'm way to lazy to type it all out! Much yarn was bought, and we had a terrific (although freakishly hot) day. I bought a couple of skiens of Noro Silk Garden, about 6 balls of...some kind of cute yarn for keyhole scarves, some black woll for a Coney Island Fireworks scarf, some pretty pink ribbon yarn for...something, and 3 bamboo circular needles (thanks for picking those up for us, Ragged!). oh! and a pattern for the fun tote bag i'm going to make. oh! and a 'knit your own bag' kit from Target.

Another thing I got at Target that i absolutely love is Pond's Bare and Repair Eye Makeup Remover. Its not greasy, and it takes off eye makeup without scrubbing. I was sweet and left it for my mom to use, but now I kinda want it back. of course they dont have it at the Wally yet. I think i'll just order it online. Its that awesome.

Unfortunately, we must have knocked the forces of nature out of kilter, because later that night Evansville and Newburgh were both hit by a nasty F3 tornado. I think around 22 people were killed, most of whom lived in a trailer park. I'm not sure if this has ever been addressed in IN, but I remember a long time ago an IL politician tried to get a law passed that made all trailer parks have at least one tornado shelter. It got shot down. I guess some people dont think of trailers as homes, or the people inside them as worthy. I guess if you cant afford a mcmansion and a basement, you're just screwed.

Work is busy, school is busy, and i'm behind on the whole shebang. Is it December yet?

Sounds like you guys had a great time! I'm glad you had already cleared out of there before the big storm hit. From the looks of it, those poor folks in the trailer park had nowhere to run to. On the news, I heard that the tornado was the size of 5 football fields. That's a helluva a thing to try to hide from. You'll have to post some pictures of your projects. I'm still in scarf mode right now. Mae says I'm ready for a hat, so I shall make a hat.

I am in love with the keyhole scarf yarn. So in love that I may never knit with anything else.
