Countless Days Since Return...
Eight months?! Eight friggin months?! I knew it has been a long time, but...eight months? I could almost have brewed a demon spawn child by now! Talking about what little I've been up to is going to be a bit embarrassing. Damn.Must start with the most important thing: New Niece! New Niece was born at the end of February and since she looks quite like her sister did when she was born. In honor of this, New Niece's blog name will be CS2 (for Curly Sue 2, not PhotoShop CS2). And since all my pictures are on the laptop and not the computer I'm at now, you will just have imagine how precious and adorable she is. Its been eight months...I think its more important right now to just get some words on the blog.
School: School is a pain and it sucks. I'm struggling to stay engaged. I still have to finish work from last summer and fall because my lazy self can't seem to finish anything. Part of the reason school is such a struggle is because of...
Work: Work is stressful but kind of awesome. After our grant ended last fall my coworker and myself found out we'd continue to be employed and we'd become a part of the IT department. IT! How exciting! I feel like I'm not geeky enough at all to deserve to be in IT but I'm trying not to embarrass myself. The stressful part is that coworker and I are responsible for training staff and faculty at our respective schools Office 2007 AND a whole new learning management system. Exciting, but completely daunting all at the same time. Needless to say I'm not taking a summer class this summer since the bulk of the training for both will take place then.
Knitting: Although I am too lazy to post actual proof, believe me when I say I am now a sock knitter! I finally finished the socks I started in Greencastle last April. Needlefingers had to help me by knitting the heel of one but other than that I finished them. Now I've started two other pairs. Needles, Ragged, and I will all be heading back to Greencastle in a few weeks, and I made them promise not to let me come home with an alpaca or an angora bunny. Or a Great Pyrenees puppy.
Speaking of socks, Needles is participating in Sock Madness right now. She had mentioned that the patterns used for the competitions weren't in her sock size but since they just happened to be in mine I totally volunteered to donate/buy/steal yarn to cajole/bribe/beg her into knitting up socks for me. And as she is fantastic, we worked up a plan in which I would donate some violently bright and 80's hued Socks that Rock yarn I got at Stitches (remember Stitches? You may have thought I had perished there, as you hadn't heard from me since 3 days before we left for it) and she would knit awesome socks really fast and I would have a gorgeous pair of handmade socks. I think this may be my new favorite way to knit socks. Head to her blog to see pictures. She has them done now so new pictures of the completed pair should be up soon. She knitted them in less than 24 hours!
Good God...I'm seriously kind of tired. I feel kind of guilty about not expounding more on how perfect Curly Sue and CS2 are or how awesome my super new 80's fluorescent socks are. I think I'll go drink some sweet tea and do my nails. Prissy! I'll make every attempt to blog within the next eight months, but I ain't makin' no promises.
