swag, part deux
Needlefingers is always kind enough to enable me...erm, pick up a few things for me when she yarn shops. Above is more Jelli Beenz. This green color is too cute for mere words. I squealed when I saw it 'in person'. I think it might end up as a new blankie for Curly Sue, since the original one I made her is 100% acryl-yuck. Jelli Beenz is a nice blend of acrylic and wool. Wool is good.We also ordered from Knitpicks. Hey, it was economical! They have uber affordable black wool for my next felted bag, and since we did the combo order we got free shipping. (like we couldnt have each gotten free shipping on separate orders since we got so much, but thats neither here nor there.)
Clockwise from top: Afghans for Knitters, Jelli Beenz in lovely green, Knitting on the Edge *and* Knitting Over the Edge, and black Wool of the Andes. I can hardly wait to get my grubby paws on it all!Stormed like a motherfu....erm, stormed like nobodys business yesterday. I don't like storms at all, but I got thru the drama with my patented and effective anxiety fighting methods. Try them yourself sometime:
- Frantically email friends in stormy areas checking on their status and typing 'so whats it doing now?' every other message.
- Leave for work before shit goes down, and stay put til its all over.
- Stay put in an internal office with no windows to the apocolyptic outside world.
- Book appointments all day and stay busy. Ask everyone who walks past or walks in, "Whats it doing out there?"
- Eat as much as possible.
- Plan your own tornado shelter strategy. Starting off in an internal office helps. Be ready to dive under the desk with your handbag, laptop, and a box of Sweet N Salty Granola Bars. Head for a basement if you are near one. If anyone mocks your storm nervousness, put a hex on them. Seriously. Storm anxiety is no laughing matter. My preferred hex is actually one of my Dad's favorites. If soemone sasses you, wish a long term case of the diarrhea on them. (make sure to emphasize that the hex must begin *after* said person gets home, not while you're all trapped in a basement or shelter together.)
- When its all over, thank the Sweet Baby Jesus (who I actually like to refer to as Jeebus. He's OK with it.) or whoever your favorite diety may be that your ass didn't blow into the next county.
I finally just got around to watching the movie Miracle. There was some weeping on my part...

I'm glad your ass didn't get blown to the next county. Can't wait to see what you do with all of your purchases.
A stitch n bitch sounds like a plan to me. I'll bring a bag o' knitting home for Thanksgiving with me.
First and foremost, glad you weren't diving beneath any desks and that you did have something other than Orbit gum to sustain you.
Secondly, I am jealous of the yarn stash and so wanna make a baby blanket.
Thirdly, I love Miracle. How could you not.
Jeebus loves me dis I know. I enjoyed the post. Esp. the part about the hex. Sounds like you were more prepaired then I was. I was doing pityful imitations of Mr. T at the time.
